of a double serving of chicken panini that took 30 mins and a fresh bob's apple fritter.
i'm not sure this is a good thing for me in the long run. eh, sure it is. :)
roger tossing in tecate to dan through the bar window. priceless.
met jonathan, employee #2 at Toms. cool dude.
met dario last night. small world. cool dude.

critical massiveness
Dear Genevieve -HGTV
i need to make a side table for our living room.
yesterday was my first critical mass. so fun. riding against traffic, blocking traffic, dodging pedestrians, all kinds of bikes (oh i wish i took a pic of the 6 person circular bike), met up anthony, ...
then, split early to catch the second half of the lakers game.
denver had nothing on us. nothing.
helluva feeling!
then mashed, seriously, to house of thai then to bambuddha, then to some italian joint in snob hill. oh, and roger beat me in darts earlier that day and mocha was a character.

"it could all be so simple, but you'd rather make it hard..."
nasty girl -vanity
speaking of, i can't believe some people of my time (sort of) don't know of The Last Dragon. The convo came up in my house a few days ago and some of the peeps over hadn't heard of the flick. Shonuff!
damn hawaiian airlines is charging me pretty much another fare just to use my unused fare. i'm so aggro
and why do people say one thing, but yet fail to live up to that one thing that I relied on?
oh well, let's hope time....
i'm learning about carbon offsets and credits. let's hope i retain this information.
just one more lakers.

Sesame Chaycon
la bayamesa -buena vista social club
i trusted the SF weather forecast for today despite the gloomy inner richmond. and good thing i did.
shot some hoops at brannan in the sun. i played some good defense- i made myself miss a bunch of shots.
then while i was there, why not visit the spring show again. love it! so inspiring. proud to be at the academy.
got home, made up a new dish for myself (and whoever is privy down the road)- sesame chicken and bacon. comes with mushrooms, green onions, and parsley. oh man. i love using sesame oil in my stir fry dishes. and i love bacon, period.
game 5 tonight, lakers by at least 5.

sci fi movies, mo's tavern, damn you jade bar (or damn you roger?), and lebron overhyped?
jdilla tribute, act 2 - jrocc
there's a consensus at ESPN 1st and 10: Lebron's status is being overhyped.
Really though, don't get it wrong, lebron is amazing and deserves to be reckoned in the same likes of NBA greats MJ, Magic, West, Bird, Wilt, Kobe, etc.
But, do people have to go so far as to start naming him the best, period? uh, no.
but but, it sure does make for good banter per kobe and that's what keeps the excitement for the fans.
yesterday, went to mo's tavern with roger and soo jin for the first time in north beach. burger/diner spot. damn good. then went to amc to watch star trek. such a fun movie to watch. after, we had time to check terminator salvation. pretty good, but i liked watching star trek more.
roger then had the brilliant idea to take advantage of sunday night happy hour at jade bar. unlike the first time i went there last year with him, i kept all my liquids in my stomach and not in the sink.
lakers just got demolished tonight, but watching it and having dinner with Yoshito, Pat, and Stacy at molimo made up for it.
"are you out of your vulcan mind?!" ...best line in the movie.

Bike Fiasco, SF to Tiburon, gotta do it again
congratulations helio castroneves. your victory is inspiring.
yesterday, had a full day on my bike, from fort mason all the way to tiburon for the first time. and it wasn't complete without the various glitches in a road trip. weather was very gloomy and chilly. mocha came along and therefore had to be considered in the bike rental. esther crashes and cuts herself. dan powering so hard up the hill to the bridge snapped the chain to the tricycle. roger waits behind at the beginning of the bridge for a replacement bike to be sent. we head across to sausalito, hit up a hole in the wall hamburger place called "hamburger" ..nice... roger arrives. then head to tiburon. i get a flat midway in mill valley and as we try to reinflate it we pierced it again by pinching the tube. luckily, thanks to GPS magic we found a bike shop a little less than a mile away. dan and i bike to tiburon and meet the gang. and must i say, tiburon and its surrounding areas are so beautiful. would love to live there someday.
we eat, drink, and get merry at sam's. catch the first quarter of the lakers game then leave to catch the ferry back to SF. gloomy and cold SF. we meet at dan and pat's home, then head to kyoto for the rest of the lakers game and $2 sapporo. lakers win. what a way to end the great day.

black edgar and the international group of us
went to a free show tonight (again) at yoshi's. this time around i was accompanied by ilija, erica... and rafael! yeah, he would be one of my favorite teachers thus far at AAU.
we saw black edgar something something i forget.. but it was cool. experimental jazzy, funk, electronic, fusion shabang. shabang bc it was pretty mind altering.
met the drummer (max mcveety). nice guy. then one of his students came and we met her too. she's probably in her late 40's, owns an internet based textile company, and plays drums for a blues band. how rad is that? very.
we talked about music, design, ilija's moves, culture, social topics, etc. good times. and very substantial even more so bc of the diverse group we made up. different ages, backgrounds, ethnicity, experiences, yada yada.
a snippet of one of our convos; a quote of a quote of one of rafael's friends:
"Nationalism is (like) the chicken pox of humanity."
interpretation: it's like a child(hood)(ish) idea we need to get over.
basically, it has no place in society, and especially with the gloabalization/ism of human interactivity nowadays.
how appropriate is this topic... i think my blog title says it all.

bay to breakers 09
evan and ray missed their flight sat morning so they didnt get in till about 130pm. then they had to go back sunday at 7pm.
nonetheless, good to have them up here hangin with mr cooper. good times. lots of walking, lots of sun, lots of food... lots of beer? the last one is relative, i don't think we can drink as much as we used to.
quick recap of the weekend- attempted to see ronaldo fight at the asian heritage festival thing on larkin. missed it. we saw him though, saw other fights, saw lyrics born, ate cold bbq, and drank cheap sapporo. met up with mia later and we all went to aimee's grad dinner. more filipino food.... mmm tocino, lumpia, and fried chacken. mia dropped us off at poleng and that was a bust. met up zander there with his new lil lady. next day, bay to breakers. no silly outfit for me this time. evan on the other hand.. hehe hehehe. great weather for little or no clothing. ran into a bunch of people randomly. shirley, ruby (cheryl's sister), aaron, nicole (from timbuk2), and then lastly troy and his crew. then, went back home to pack and get to michelle nolasco's for bbq and the game. we got the first part, but missed the game bc of the damn transportation, or lack of, post bay2breakers. took us about 1 1/2 hours to get there.
took em on BART and they were off. i then met up with jen as she was watching her beloved (stupid) celtics and she was taking a break from studying.
man, my legs were shot. and i was super comatose from michelle's bbq and all the activity of the day.
now, ready to be productive even with school and work on break. lets.

good find, finals, interesting guy at the back of the bus...
found this book that i might want to check out sometime- Attitude 101. i think a lot of people should. it's a good, basic reminder how attitude is an essential part to success. work, relationships, etc. here's a review from a reader:
Particularly meaningful to me were the reminders that temporary setbacks (what some see as "failures") are good ways to learn how to be more effective. If we can combine lots of attempts with an ability to emotionally forget how they made us feel when the attempts didn't work, we can accomplish a great deal.
- a review by professor mitchell on the book Attitude 101
ok, it's friday and im finally finished with finals.
back to the bus shenanigans...
first interesting dude was when i was on the way to architecture. homeless guy talking aloud to himself (but of course as if he was talking to someone else) saying things like, " mars... im a martian. yeah i did drugs.. you name em... barbitol (sp?), meth, cocaine, .... " oh man, he said much more than that. i just forgot.
then, on the way back to ID, bunch of black kids being loud and being very crass, nigga this nigga that.... then 3 young chicks enter the bus but sit in the front but have you no doubt that the guys in the back tried to make a scene of them checking them out.
what the hell is wrong with people.

Pacquiao, pride ob da pilippines.
holy no contest... Pacman nearly decapitates Hatton! 2 rounds... dead-on knockout. so brutal, i felt sorry for Hatton.
Jim Lampley and colleague said after the fight, "He can do everything." I'm convinced myself.
what makes it even more inspirational is his humility and humanitarianism through his success.
Mayweather, watch out.
other notes for the evening, Lena was there. crazy...what's interesting about this is that there was a nike sponsored showing in LA as well but somehow she was sent up to SF. it seems i see her at all the nike events despite the location. and jen and sterling silver showed up (even though i didnt get to see them), thanks to terry for getting them in.
